Hair transplantation differs from skin grafting. In that grafts contain almost all of the epidermis and dermis surrounding the hair follicle, and many tiny grafts are transplanted. Since hair naturally grows in follicles that contain groupings of 1 to 4 hairs. FUE is the most advanced techniques of hair transplant that can achieve a natural appearance of hairs.
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) Hair Transplant
As per US National Library of Medicine Follicular unit extraction is a small round punch which is used to extract follicular units from a patient’s bald resistant donor areas. These 1, 2, 3 and 4 hair follicular unit grafts are then transplant into a patient’s balding areas.
FUE hair transplant is a surgical procedure in which skin containing hair follicular unit (each unit has 1-5 hairs). That extracted from one part of the body (the donor site) to implant to bald area (the recipient site). The hair transplantation here is implement under local anesthesia. And the patient remains conscious during the period of surgical procedure. Hair transplant by FUE is implement in sessions. In one session patient can have 2-4 sittings in which he can get about 2000-3000 follicular grafts. That combined from scalp and body and even more if the patient desire so.
FUE is today’s most advance technique of hair transplant. Which gives permanent and natural appearance to the person who undergoes hair transplant here from India as well as abroad. Pre Preparation of Hair Transplant
Once you decide to undergo hair transplantation from us, we will fix an appropriate date which is convenient to you. You will be require to undergo some routine blood tests. A file folder containing your medical records, consent form, pre-op instructions, basic facts about the procedure of hair transplant, post-op instructions will be made.
On the day of Hair transplant surgery, please have a head bath and a heavy breakfast.
Once you arrive at our clinic, we will click the pictures of you bald area as well as the donor area. Then we trim and prepare the donor area from the back of the head for transplant it to the bald place (or place of implant like moustache, eyebrow, beard).
Care After Hair Transplant
You are require to spray normal saline in the implant area 2 hourly for first 5 days after the FUE hair surgery to prevent drying of the graft area.
It is recommended that the patient (if he is in-station). Should turn up the next day for review of the donor area, cleaning of the area and fresh bandage if required. The dressing on the forehead is usually remove. If he cannot turn up, he can remove the bandage on his own also.
Small crusts start appearing in the donor area. There is nothing to worry about as the scabs start falling and the hair start growing in the donor area again.
Just like any other hair transplant, swelling may appear on the forehead 24 hours after FUE surgery. It can be increases for about 3 days, comes around the eyes and cheeks and takes about a week to settle down. This is totally physiological, there is nothing to worry about it. It occurs because of the gravity and settles on its own without any further medication. During that time you can wear sunglasses and a baseball cap.
You can clean your hair with a mild shampoo 5 days after the implantation without rubbing them. Then subsequently after 10 days by gently rinsing them.
There might be some redness in the implanted area in the post-op period but this is again part of the natural healing phase.
Avoid direct exposure to sunlight for about 3 weeks.
Avoid the following strenuous activities for 3 weeks after FUE hair transplant: Body building, soccer, swimming.
Hair Implantation

Before the hair implant process there is a sensitivity testing protocol to be follow to ensure that the patient does not show sensitivity to the implant fibers. As it may show allergic reaction.
The biofibre hair implant is specially made so that it can be implant without much trauma to the scalp and can be pull out without leaving any scars. Doctors are specially trained to implant the individual biofibre hair implants into any bald areas of scalp using special instruments. Which implant the hairs securely into specific depths. Certain areas of the scalp which would otherwise not be treatable with normal implants can be treated with biofibre.
Post implant the patient is expected to follow certain procedures such as cleaning of the hair implants with approved products and follow up regularly with the hair implant clinic. Usually there is 10 to 20% fall of Biofibre hair implant every year and need to be replaced.
