Chemical Peels
What is a Chemical Peel?
Chemical peel can improve the skin’s texture, tone and smoothness. In this treatment, a chemical solution is apply on the skin, which makes it “blister” and eventually peel off. The new skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. Chemical peels are a popular nonsurgical cosmetic procedure used to peel away the skin’s top layer, covered with dead skin cells.
During a chemical peel, a dermatologist applies the exfoliant acid first to the thicker areas of skin, such as the chin, nose, and cheeks, before applying it to the thinner areas around the eyes and mouth.
